Defining Narratives Institute is an online learning and engagement platform built for justice-involved youth, mentors, volunteers, and system professionals. Whether you’re in a detention center, on probation, or mentoring someone who is, this platform offers real tools for growth, healing, and transformation.

    • Youth who are incarcerated, on probation, or at-risk

    • Mentors and volunteers who want to be trained to work with these youth

    • Law enforcement, correctional staff, and case workers who want to do more than supervise—they want to lead, guide, and invest

    • Community organizations and schools who need structured curriculum but don’t have boots-on-the-ground staff

We offer trauma-informed, redemptive justice-centered content in areas like:

    • Character and identity development

    • Emotional intelligence and mental health

    • Life skills and goal setting

    • Conflict resolution and accountability

    • Faith and purpose

    • Volunteer and officer training modules

The courses are built to meet youth where they are—in language, in life stage, and in reality.

No. But our foundation is faith-rooted. We believe in a redemptive God who transforms lives. That said, youth from any background can access the content, and our teaching is built to inspire, not indoctrinate. If you’re looking for hope, change, and a real way forward, you’re welcome here.

No. That’s the point. This platform is designed to work anywhere—inside a juvenile facility, a re-entry program, a church, a classroom, or at home. As long as you have access to the internet, you can learn, grow, and engage.

    There are three main ways:

    1. Through a facility or program that has partnered with us

    2. Directly through a mentor or volunteer

    3. By signing up individually if they have access to the internet

We’re working with juvenile justice systems, schools, churches, and community programs to streamline this process across Florida and beyond.

Many of our programs are offered for free to justice-involved youth and their mentors through community partnerships. For organizations or professionals looking for large-scale access or advanced training modules, custom pricing is available.

Yes. Our training tracks include certificate-based modules for:

    • Volunteer mentorship

    • Officer youth engagement

    • Trauma-informed care

    • Redemptive justice practices

These certifications help equip you to serve youth more effectively and with deeper understanding.
